Nine To Five: Property reality show coming soon

hm.jpgWell, it's certainly different. In what sounds like a sort of one-man Celebrity Apprentice with even more polyester and clip-boards, a Channel 4 reality show Nine to Five will be sending a celeb into an estate agency to be taught the ins and outs of the property industry.

The exact identity of the celebrity remains a closely guarded secret at Housemartins, though Raymond Woolford, director of the agency, insists that their guest will not be in for an easy ride.

"They're going to be taking part in all aspects of the job", he said. "They'll be learning how to carry out viewings, draw up floor plans, and sell properties. We're going to challenge them to close a deal by the end of their time here."

Woolford hopes this show will improve the image of his industry. "People hold estate agents up with politicians for the worst possible career choice... We're hoping to show that an estate agent is a quality profession. This isn't a rogue operation; it's not a backstreet industry. It's a serious profession that's tightly regulated, and we really see this TV programme as an opportunity to show the good, positive side of the industry, and show that bad estate agents are a thing of the past."
