New reality show: The Duchess in Hull

fergie.jpgEveryone knows that ordinary people tend to be overweight because we're not bright enough to understand that fatty foods make you fat. So hooray for Fergie, who's stepped up to the plate to educate the nation in a new foodie reality show about our obesity crisis. I mean, honestly. Fergie's no stranger to the elasticated waistband herself of course, which is presumably one of the reasons she was chosen for the grim Challenge Anneka style task.

Here are some great pictures of the Duchess shopping in Netto. Which is where everyone shops, obviously.

The two-part ITV1 show will be broadcast in the summer, and will see Sarah move to a council estate in Hull to attempt to improve the eating habits of a large family surviving on benefits. I wonder how much caviar you can get for £55 a week.

Much is being made of the fact that Fergie has been staying at £40-a-night B&B. I'm sure it's not the Ritz but come on! I'm from the north. You can buy a house in Hull for £40.

Sarah said: "This programme is an attempt to explore solutions to the growing obesity problem in the UK. I want to see whether we can help families all over the country, no matter what their budget, to improve their lifestyles through using what is already available to them in their community.

"Weight issues affect all sorts of people from all walks of life. The family I met in Hull live in a way that I hadn't experienced - feeding six on a week's benefits."
