Australian Idol will be holding auditions in London and LA in a bid to boost their ratings. In a bold move for the talent show, two of the three judges will audition Australians living overseas next month.

It's a canny move, really, especially when you consider that about a million Australians live in the UK and US - more than in the states of the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania combined. Show producers said they wanted to "tap into this fantastic and as yet unknown talent pool" in the sixth series, which airs in Australia in August.

So if you're an aussie, and you live in the UK, head to the Cumberland Hotel in London on April 19th and strut your stuff for judge Ian "Dicko" Dickson at the UK auditions. British people sneaking in and singing the Neighbours theme tune in an "australian accent" will not be tolerated. You have been warned.
