Sharon Osbourne has demanded a higher salary for the next series of X Factor. The talent show judge has reportedly told Simon Cowell that she will only return to the show if he makes it worth her while.

Now don't get me wrong, I love Sharon. She's at least my third favourite Osbourne. But why on earth would Simon shell out to get her back on his show? What's in it for him? Isn't she basically making it quite easy for him to tell her to go away?...

After she'd acted up so much on the last series, it seems Cowell had tried to get Mrs O back for a bargain price. If you recall, all her acts had been eliminated by week five and she got all sad and jealous and even stormed off the show during the ad break on one show. Now she's hosted the Brits, Shaz reckons she's worth a bit more.

"Until the Brits, Simon thought he had the upper hand and could dictate terms to Sharon. He wanted her back but he thought she needed the show more than it needed her," a source told the Daily Star Sunday. "Now Sharon has other ideas. It has become an almighty battle of wills. Both Simon and Sharon are digging their heels in and, at the moment, it's difficult to see which way it's going to go."
