No, the talent guru will not be "hanging ten" with small-faced body builder Hunter, but has been asked to come up with a new Saturday night TV show as a ratings rival for Sky One's revamped Gladiators. ITV have called on Simon and his TV company Syco to make an arena show that will knock Glads right off the Travelator. The new show will have "interactive and video-gaming elements". An ITV source said: "Our bosses were offered Gladiators but turned it down in favour of Simon's idea. The two shows are going to war." It's Strictly vs X Factor all over again. Can't we all just be friends? Sigh.
