Elsewhere on the Shiny Lifestyle network... slankets, phallic balloons and rings of evil

sla.jpg

A little change for the usual, this. It's tempting to think reality tv is the whole world, my life, my love, my all. But let's pan back for a moment and take in the big picture. Thing is, Panto is just one of many equally fun sites covering everything from green shopping to women's issues. And every so often we'll be having a little weekly round-up of what's been happening on the other blogs... they're all linked down the middle column there too so you can pop over there any time you like. Not too difficult, is it? Do come back though.

Cate at fantastic women's blog Dollymix has discovered The Slanket, which she reckons should fill a gap in the lives of "the single, those without a social life, or anyone who just likes to get snugly." It's a blanket with sleeves, man. Sleeves! And there's no doubt that hating Valentine's Day was pretty popular this week but, as Dollymix notes, also pretty annoying.

Coronation Street fans, did you know we do a whole blog just for you? The week in Corrie is summed up on Corrieblog here. And Corrieblog also brings the reassuring news that David Platt hasn't quite put his evil ways behind him.

Very funny internet auction blog Bayraider finds a jolly Writers Guild Strike themed t shirt with a political agenda (and price tag to match) and a ring guaranteed to bring the wearer bad luck. Maybe if the photographer hadn't been wearing it at the time that shot would've been in focus.

Stuart Waterman of music site My Chemical Toilet was surprised to find an amusing post about Christina Aguilera and phallic balloons hijacked by the anti-circumcision brigade, and R.E.M's new video went up on the site this week, to remind everyone that they still exist. Just.

Hippy Shopper finds that Pepsi's new drink will be all natural, with the company showing uncharacteristic openness about their ingredients this time, too. And it's with some jealousy that I relay to you that Abi has been hanging out at the HQ of Innocent Smoothies.

The wonderful Crafty Crafty has a dress is made from an Ikea shower curtain, and the new issue of the excellent O'Reilly quarterly Craft Magazine is on sale now. It looks ace as ever.

Celebrity site Star Trip wonders whether Heather cheated on Paul, and finds that Aretha Franklin is angry with Beyoncé for not showing any R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

And Lost Weekend, the source of all your travel news, finds
Israel's new visa laws are causing a spring roll strike
, and continuing the food theme, find out why a poppy seed sandwich can earn you a cool four years in a Dubai prison.
