You must've heard about this one, the T4 appearance-based reality show hosted by not-too-shabby-herself Alexa Chung. (Here's the trailer) Ten beautiful people are locked up in a big old house, competing to see who's the most beautiful. The loveliest stands to win £10,000 at the end of the contest. When I heard about this I had my doubts. I mean, how is their "beauty" going to change, or somehow appear, over a period of time? Isn't physical attractiveness, by its very definition, almost immediately apparent? But wait, what's this. They'll be "tested on how how beautiful they truly are - on the inside as well as the outside". On the inside? Unless the first episode opens with someone in a white coat brandishing an endoscope, we'll have to assume this isn't about looks at all. It's another damn popularity contest! The swine. I want to see a real competition based on looks. Bring back "Your Face Or Mine".
