It's hard to fathom how anyone who takes a photo of a floor duster into the hairdressers can be vain, but it's true - Cowell gets botoxed. He's on record saying: "Yes, I've had Botox, but not in an obsessive way. Then again, every guy I know who works in the City has had it now." Which city, Simon? This one? Would explain a lot.

It was the usual chaotic spit & sawdust cabaret on X Factor this weekend - but with more audience heckling than, I think, ever before. Chanting "ALISHA" when Dannii's trying to make up her mind who to axe might seem helpful at the time, but when 80% of the audience are doing it, you wonder if it's started to become a little insensitive. Yes, Alisha's out, and it's fair enough really - she wasn't very good. It's a talent contest, after all, not a... rubbish contest.

You didn't miss much else. Rhydian - camper than a field of pink tents - sang "Go West" in a sailor suit, the Siblings Wyrd bounced their way through a Big Fun hit dressed as Barbie and Ken, and Sharon spent half the show passed out on the table. Tune in next week to see whether Louis's aroma alone will be enough to bring her round.
