To The Manor Bowen - coming soon on Living TV
Man, it's so obvious. One of those shows that was built entirely around a genius title, like Fit For A KIng, the sitcom I'm writing about the adventures of Alan King, epileptic.
The series will follow TV's most flamboyant family, the Llewelyn-Bowens of course, (yes there are more than one of them - it's already interesting isn't it?) as they have a go at building a life at a derelict 24-room Manor house in the Gloucestershire countryside. Flicky-haired designer Laurence, wife Jackie and kids Cecile and Hermione (seriously) are moving from London to the Cotswolds. The pair see themselves as the new Lord and Lady of the Manor, and the show follows their efforts to renovate their home using, presumably, sticky back plastic sheets and purple paint. Jokes aside for once - he's a talented bloke and at least he's interesting to watch. As Bowen says "we're not reality tv, we're surreality tv".
The show kicks off on Wednesday 7th November, 8pm, on LIVING. There's a video interview with them here being a bit tipsy and unpolished. It looks rather good actually.
