The X Factor has changed Kelly Northall's life alright, just not in the way she'd hoped. And it's all your fault. Yeah, you. For not voting for her when I held a "who was the best reject?" poll. Had you voted for Kelly rather than "oh-i'm-so-little-and-cute-aren't-I (with-my-hands-over-my-mouth)" Totoshko, we might have upped her popularity and damn well launched her career.

Instead, poor old Kelly has been the target of a hate mob, according to The Star. Angry fans have verbally abused her since she called the judges “w***ers” on last week's show. The mum-of-three says is now afraid to leave her house (*cough* email me for the address *cough*).

Kelly says the show has made her life “a misery” and she blames Simon Cowell for her problems since her rendition of I Will Always Love You roused the canine population across Europe. Cowell told her she sounded like Lassie, but I'm not so sure. Kelly's voice is utterly without meaning... but Lassie's barks had a kind of urgency about them; I think she wanted us to follow her. I don't care if Timmy's drowning in the creek, I'm not going to follow Kelly anywhere.

Kelly's dad, the improbably named Peter Peakman, was also shown accusing Cowell of not having a heart. Kelly said: “I have had loads of abuse from people in the local area, calling me a dog after Simon said I sounded like one. I went to a friend’s birthday party the other day and had to leave early because people were giving me so much abuse. I’ve been called a ‘f***ing fat slag’ and ‘silly bitch’ in the street.”
