Jim Davidson has caused a rift at Hell's Kitchen by mocking fellow contestant Brian Dowling about his sexuality. Davidson (loosely described as a comedian in various quarters) asked the Big Brother star whether he believed that Marco Pierre White had assigned him to pastry because of his sexual preferences.

Dowling dismissed his insinuation, saying: "I think it's because he literally knew I didn't have a single clue." Davidson later confronted the burgeoning tension between the celebrity chefs, asking Dowling: “Are you going to hate me because I'm a homophobic a***hole?" Dowling replied: "I wouldn't say hate."
