The Mirror reflects on Hell's Kitchen

marco2.jpg The Mirror has had a valiant attempt at probing the Hell's Kitchen chef's dark past today. In a classic case of 'never let the truth get in the way of the need to fill column inches', the tabloid has masterfully turned absolutely no information into several hundred words of breathless hysteria.

So hold the front page, as Marco Pierre White's mother gives the paper an exclusive interview. "I don't really want to say anything". I know, what's she hiding? Strap yourself in as 'Family friend Gloria Johns, 72' speaks out with shocking honesty: "I saw Marco about a year ago, when he came back here. He popped in for a cup of tea and a chat." The monster!

Wade through all the nonsense, though, and it does seem there was something of a family feud back in the day, but apparently Marco and his brothers get on much better these days, now that he pays them an allowance.
