Malcolm McLaren to appear on I'm a Celebrity...
If the latest whispers are to be believed, then Malcolm McLaren has been signed for this year’s series of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.
The former manager of the Sex Pistols – who topped the charts with Never Mind The Bollocks – is expected to be just as fiery as the legend Johnny Rotten. Johnny - or John Lydon as he should probably now be known, was on the show four years ago and memorably left of his own accord. Which was a shame, because it would have been kind of great if he'd won. Full marks to The Star though, for this line "McLaren will be faced with more bollocks if the show still has the terrifying challenge of eating kangaroo testicles."
Rumour has it that the producers have £150,000 to bag McLaren. That's a lot of money on someone who surely nobody really remembers. I can't help but feel they'd have made more back on their cash if they'd invested it in a small house.
A show source said: “He’ll want to upstage John Lydon. The pair don’t get on after the Pistols sued McLaren for £1 million in unpaid royalties...it would be like sticking two fingers up to Mr Rotten.”
Other names currently tipped for the ITV show include Right Said Fred star Richard Fairbrass, 54 and Prince Andrew’s ex-lover Koo Stark, 51. All in all it's a pretty geriatric line-up by reality tv standards.
