As we count down to the end of Big Brother 8, it seems like we’ve still got about a million housemates to watch and they’re all offering up their own inane quotes in a battle for QOTW supremacy. Here’s my top three this week – proving Brian has a new contender for the crown...

3. Kara-Louise and Ziggy, the new Gerry and Carole of bitchiness. After Kara-Louise had baited Ziggy all day with taunts of “hot shot goldilocks”, he got his own back, with bells on, as she beautified her armpits in the communal bedroom. “Can you please pluck in another room? It’s just wrong”, he said with as much haughty disgust as he could muster.

2. Brian on finding out just how unrequited his love for Amanda was. While letting him down gently, she broke off from his intense gaze to chuckle at something Sam was up to across the room. Indignant Brian put her straight in her place, lecturing: “I'm pouring out my whole heart here and you're laughing in my face.” Summing up the nation’s view of the budding romance in one fell swoop, really.

1. Ziggy actually being funny during the Finishing School task. As he rounded the final bend of the assault course, book on head, G&T in hand and Barbour jacket on, he paused for what has to be his best moment so far. Sitting down in the chair next to a stuffed golden retriever and patting its head, he kept a totally straight face as he asked: “Guys, do you mind if I have a moment with the dog?” And we thought Chanelle had gone to the States, etc.
