11am: Big Brother's Crime and Punishment

HMdiaryroom.jpg

Ziggy, Carole and Liam finally had to take their long-awaited punishment for discussing nominations yesterday. Amanda, Sam, Jonty and Brian were summoned to the Diary Room, and in a well-worn BB move, had their scared little faces beamed onto a screen in the house. Big Brother asked the gang in the diary room to choose two of the culprits to face eviction.

At first they valiantly refuse, but in the face of everyone's favourite tyrannical oppressor, it's all pretty pointless. "Nominating is not optional!" Big Brother can be quite scary sometimes. The house doesn't bear much resemblance to Orwell's dystopian nightmare, but I still catch myself willing them to pass to tasks, to keep quiet and behave well, some part of me half expecting the disobedient to be "disappeared" - never seen again. In a way I suppose that *is* what happens to a lot of former BB housemates, now I think about it.

Eventually the housemates decide to nominate Carole and Ziggy. After a dramatic pause Big Brother announces, "Unfortunately these nominations will count for nothing. They mean nothing. There will be no eviction this Wednesday. HMs have now had to listen to other HMs nominating them and Big Brother hopes that they have learned their lesson. Big Brother takes rule breaking very seriously. Enjoy your last week in the house." Oh and PS: Resistance is futile!
