Eleven females cohabiting with only one bathroom. It was destined to all end in tears, and end in tears it did last night when the row all argument fans have been waiting for kicked off in style.

Shabnam, caught asking people to nominate her, was told by Big Brother she’d be punished. But in true evil-BB style when they say ‘punish you’ they of course mean ‘punish the whole house, thereby making them instantly resent you’. Brilliant.

Shabnam’s punishment meant the luxury bathroom was put out of bounds to the entire house – and amongst the panicked females, Straightenergate was unleashed. As an unbothered Ziggy and Lesley looked on, Chanelle and Emily got into a heated row over the only pair of heated straighteners.

It ended with Emily in tears, Chanelle in a fury and possibly my favourite diary room moment so far - Chanelle in hysterics in the chair, sobbing: “I… can’t… help it if my hair’s got a little bit of a… KINK!” Not quite as legendary as Jade and Shilpa’s chicken bust up or Emma and Jason’s plate throwing, but a great way to kick off Series 8’s rowing in style.
