Is it me, or is BB8 already feeling a bit tired and worn out? This year, Big Brother is far from boring with a clutch of incidents to keep us twittering by the water cooler, but it feels like it has failed to really capture the nation enough to keep it well and truly rapt. If that is the case, then why do we (well, maybe it's just me) feel like this?

The third Big Brother is widely regarded as the most boring BB in history... much like a band struggling to come up with a decent third album ('difficult third album syndrome). Now, Big Brother feels like the release of a new Rolling Stones LP. Hardly offensive, but by the same token, not really received with welcoming arms and ears. Big Brother is beginning to smell a bit funky.

One thing that is certainly unique to the latest Big Brother is how aware the housemates are. Listening to Charley (spit) and Shabnam (before her boot), it was painful to here that they unashamedly wanted more from the house. Charley recently quipped that she wouldn't get anything after the 'experience' after a mere three weeks inside as it isn't "long enough". Shabnam undoubtedly has an air of the desperate about her. Her inclusion on Britain's Got Talent and Embarrassing Illnesses showed that she'd do absolutely anything to get on the box. These don't make for great personalities on a TV show.

With almost all the housemates keeping one eye on the camera, it's hard to really immerse into the show, and thus, has left me feeling slightly bored and uninterested. This isn't helped by the fact that Channel 4 and the BB producers are seemingly running out of ideas for the programme.

We are all very aware of the format now. Throw some idiots in with some more 'normal' person, deny them booze occasionally and make them do ridiculous tasks. Nothing new there. In fact, why should we show an interest in the current crop of people when we can see celebrities making prats of themselves? What makes better TV; George Galloway lapping milk and pretending to be pussy, or a nondescript in a sardine outfit? Has BB got anything left up the sleeve to make us all coo again?
