3pm update: The housemates... they're revolting!
Some of the greatest moments of the series so far today.
After failing the sleeping task, the housemates have only a teeny-tiny shopping budget for next week. Not only that, but Big Brother has demanded the extra luxury food from last week's shopping to be returned to the store room.
The housemates were having none of it.
Shoving the food into blankets, they proceeded to play Big Brother at it's own game. When asked to gather on the sofas, they moved the food into the kitchen. When asked to gather in the bedroom, they dragged it back again. Class.
The housemates were then reminded that it is against the rules to hoard food. The housemates were a little scared by this threat, so they stopped hoarding.
Instead, the geniuses had a great big fry-up.
Then, the inevitable happened. People started to chicken out. Jonathan uttered the words, "Their house, their rules," and suggested the housemates should just give up their protest. Carole, though, was having none of it.
"I may be daft but I'm not stupid," she said, showing glimpses of the political activist she promised us on the way in. It's a shame the other housemates didn't follow her lead -- they were well on the way to rendering Big Brother completely powerless. What would they have done if the housemates would have flat-out refused to do what they say?
Great telly, I'll give you all the heads up for when it's on the highlights show.
