With the sardine task well underway, housemates have found it tough going.

Gerry, Seány and Ziggy tried to keep spirits up by playing games and cracking jokes. "There's something fishy going on here," quipped Seány.

At 1:05pm, the housemates gave up and left the tin. Not even two hours. How bad can smelly fish be? People in Grimsby manage. Unsurprisingly, it was Shabnam who campaigned for the early departure.

As the housemates sat around in towels trying to rid the smell, Gerry was confident that the housemates had done well in their task, saying they had overcome their fears. Hmmm. Overcome their fears of sitting in a big human-sized tin. We can all relate to that, I guess.

Seány noticed that there's an ongoing fish theme in the house. "There's a fish on the telephone as well, what's that all about?" he said.

Debate then turned momentarily to food. For a moment I thought Nicky might scoop up some of the fish and put it away for safe-keeping.

Shabnam believed that they had earned a luxury budget, and that even if they failed the task, Big Brother should treat them. Several tuts were heard from the group.

At 2pm, the result of the task is still not known. Big Brother is having technical difficulties.
