11am update: Gerry is a shady fellow
Dek Hogan has written this excellent piece about the house. Much of it is fairly straightforward, but the guy does manage to back up my own thoughts about Gerry.
"The more I see of Gerry, the more convinced I am he’s playing a carefully controlled part. Maybe he’s being natural but if he’d studied DVDs of Nadia before entering I wouldn’t be at all surprised. Keep an eye on this one, he’s a master of the soundbite and seems to know exactly how to behave to ensure that he gets more than his fair share of screen time. He’s not just along for the ride."
Quite right too. I've said in the past how Gerry seems to be a bit over-the-top with his moralistic sayings. Like when he said they'd all overcome their fears in the sardine task. I thought it was down to him being a bit of a pratt, but I think Dek might have it correct: Gerry knows how to get himself in the highlights show.
In other news, here's a funny little story about Charley. Silly old bat.
